Description
Helena Madeira graduated in Anthropology and Italian Language alongside her studies in singing and harp at the National Conservatory of Music in Lisbon.
Between 2006 and 2015, she was the vocalist of the world music band MU, with whom she recorded two albums, one of which won the Carlos Paredes Award in 2009, and with whom she performed live on the most renowned world music stages worldwide.
In addition to accompanying various performers, such as singer Sofia Escobar, and composing original soundtracks for multidisciplinary shows, Helena Madeira has just recorded her fourth album, where she presents the harp as the sovereign queen of composition.
Alongside her artistic career, Helena Madeira is the Artistic Director of the Algarve Harp Festival and, through the PEEA program and the National Arts Plan of the Ministry of Education, developed projects dedicated to younger audiences. In these projects, with the harp as the host, she explores the intangible heritage of Algarve legends while also introducing musical training fundamentals and creativity exploration games.
